We The Yuva is a platform that promotes and supports individuals and organizations working with and for youth. It strives to make youth participation more effective, informed, and impactful, ensuring that young people can exercise agency in shaping their own futures and communities.
Aims to reduce the existing gaps in the distribution of resources, knowledge, skills, and decision-making power, thereby enabling every young person to make informed choices and contribute meaningfully to social change.
WeTheYuva is committed to building an enabling ecosystem for youth-centric development through the following key pillars:
Resources: Ensuring equitable access to funding, education, and information that empowers youth-led initiatives to thrive.
Institutionalization: Establishing sustainable platforms that amplify and formalize youth voices within decision-making processes.
Accessibility: Promoting inclusive and non-discriminatory participation for all young people, irrespective of their backgrounds.
Visibility: Showcasing and celebrating youth-led efforts through storytelling, blogs, and grassroots narratives.
Spaces: Creating both formal and informal environments that enable youth to co-design and co-lead development processes.
Community-led advocacy: Encourage bottom-up, community-driven processes that promote participatory governance and local ownership. Reimagining development: Co-create socio-economic and well-being models of development that emerge from grassroots experiences and value-driven thought leadership. Knowledge building: Undertake continuous research and documentation to build a strong, evidence-based foundation for youth development policy and practice.
Youth Spaces & Participation: We promote self-development and agency by creating inclusive spaces where youth voices are nurtured, respected, and amplified. To enhance participation, we cultivate the spirit of Volunteerism as a core value. We believe the time and energy of youth must be channeled through structured, process-driven, and outcome-based volunteer programmes. Our goal is to support Self-Propelled Leadership. WeTheYuva is driven by the philosophy of Self-Empowered Voluntary Action (SEVA). Our Active Citizenship programme empowers youth to engage meaningfully with local governance and democratic processes. By fostering a sense of ownership over public spaces and systems, we bridge the gap between citizens and the administration, resolving community challenges while upholding constitutional values.
Education, Skills, and Livelihoods: We promote holistic youth education that integrates Life Management concepts into skills development and livelihood pathways. Through training, mentorship, and coaching, we strengthen young people’s employability and entrepreneurial capacities, enabling them to pursue sustainable jobs or entrepreneurial opportunities of their choice.
Well-being: Foster holistic growth-mental, emotional, and physical—through online/offline spaces; community-based well-being practices that prioritize personal and collective health.
Non-violence and Peacebuilding: Cultivate values of empathy, dialogue, and harmony across diverse communities to build a culture of peace and mutual understanding.
Knowledge Platform: Develop and maintain dynamic forums for sharing information, tools, research, and innovative practices in the field of youth development. Collectivization: Collectivization: Collaboration and partnership are the way forward. Collectivization is the process of uniting around shared goals and actions to create greater impact. It amplifies the efforts of Youth Spaces & Participation and the Knowledge Platform, building cohesion and collective strength for the promotion of youth initiatives.
